Inspired by the vibrant culture, lively atmosphere, and incredible flavors of New Orleans, the French Quarter is lined with bars and restaurants that are sure to make your mouth water! That includes our Chief Culinary Officer’s very own Emeril’s Bistro 1396 and bars like The Brass Magnolia and the Fortune Teller that are known for their A-plus drinks and live jazz. Whether it’s casual munching or sit-down elegance you’re hungry for, we can’t wait to share all this dining variety with you. Ok, a few places — get ready for six distinct onboard zones featuring brand-new experiences for spectacularly getting down to food, drink and fun. In August 2004, the Carnival ship Holiday was recognized for the rescue of five Mexican fishermen. Carnival Cruise Line Captain Niccolo De Ranieri accepted the Cruise Ship Humanitarian Assistance Award during the Association for Rescue at Sea (AFRAS) annual awards ceremony on Tuesday evening.
The Carnival Mardi Gras Casino and Serenity Deck Pool are Standouts
We only just found out about the years he spent soaking up the sun among the grass skirts and frangipani flowers of the South Pacific where, he would tell you, it’s easy being red. You'll find some of his favorite recipes from those days on menu at the first-ever RedFrog® Tiki Bar — sip a Polynesian Punch, try a Jungle Bird, or get a little tongue-twisted ordering a Red's Rum Jumper. This poolside bar on Mardi Gras® spans two decks and transports you right to the land of Tiki. This zone also includes a SportSquare sports complex for active-minded passengers.

Carnival Excel Corner Suites
There’s room for you and your things — with a large room and balcony — and a walk-in closet. And like all suites, a Cloud 9 Spa Suite features VIP check-in, which lets you easily get right up to your amazing stateroom. A Carnival Excel Presidential Suite is the ultimate in both stateroom and spa accommodations. Mardi Gras’ massive onboard waterpark is one of the largest in Carnival’s entire fleet (All the Excel-class ships have the same features). Located in the ship’s Ultimate Playground zone, the waterpark is a go-to spot for fun-loving kids and families, thrill-seekers, and the young at heart. The ship’s design incorporates all of the latest and greatest in cruising.

HAVANA CABANA
Upon embarkation, all of the tips will have been paid in full, but many cruisers will carry extra cash to provide additional tips to their stateroom attendant and other crew members who provided exceptional service during their cruise. The Carnival crew has a stellar reputation as being some of the best at sea. You can expect towel animals nightly in the staterooms, twice-daily housekeeping, and smiles from everyone you interact with. The international crew, focused on helping passengers have the greatest cruise vacation possible, are also always eager to talk to guests young and old about their countries and life at sea. Casual dress is standard during the day on the Carnival Mardi Gras. Most restaurants, save for the buffet and casual quick bite destinations, expect guests to swap out their flip flops, tank tops, and hats at dinnertime.
Street Eats is a new dining concept in Carnival Cruise Line, located on Lido Deck 16 around Mardi Gras’ Beach Pool area. Inspired by food trucks and street eateries, Street Eats consists of three open-air counter-service stalls — Steam Dream, Mad Sizzle, and Time Fries. Barbecue lovers should head down to Deck 8 for excellent smoked meats, comfort food sides, and a home-brewed beer at Guy Fieri’s other restaurant, Guy’s Pig & Anchor Smokehouse | Brewhouse. All meals at Guy’s Pig & Anchor are currently free of charge on Mardi Gras. There are tons of new specialty drinks and bars to try on this ship.
Here are offered full bar service, swimming pool, sunbathing area with cabanas, deckchairs and sun loungers available for rent. The cabanas are fully-stocked with beverages, chilled towels, plush bathrobes and provide dedicated concierge service with lunch delivery and fresh fruits. Carnival Excel Suite passengers enjoy priority cabana reservations. Ship's 2-deck-high Lido zone houses fleet's biggest "Guy's Burger Joint" (by Guy Fieri), the Mexican food bar BlueIguana Cantina, the New England-inspired Seafood Shack, and Lido Marketplace (ship's buffet restaurant). Other signature facilities in the area are Beach Pool (midship) and the infinity swimming pool Tides Pool (aft) with a bar, great stern views and ample seating.
CLOUD 9 SPA OCEAN VIEW
Don’t miss the incredible views at The Watering Hole in the Summer Landing Zone, and stop by the Heroes Tribute Bar & Lounge while you’re in that area, too. Carnival will donate a portion of the sale to benefit Operation Homefront when you purchase a specialty cocktail or beer in a souvenir glass. Rudi Sodamin’s multi-course dining experience is phenomenal and well worth the $49 per-person charge.

FAMILY HARBOR OCEAN VIEW
The award celebrates Jiménez for embodying the company’s fun and friendship values in addition to diversity and inclusion. In addition, Jiménez was bestowed the honor of godmother to Mardi Gras. To accommodate Mardi Gras in her new homeport, Port Canaveral in Florida needed to build a new terminal.
Older kids, ages 9 to 11, can chill at pool parties and go on scavenger hunts. Young teens, ages 12 to 14, hang out together for late-night movies, nighttime swims, sports, the latest video games, and dance parties. Teens ages 15 to 17 gather in their own lounge area to play the latest video games, relax in comfy seats, dance on the state-of-the-art dance floors, and hang at the non-alcoholic drink bar.
The first one on everyone's list is the Carnival Mardi Gras roller coaster Bolt, the first roller coaster at sea -- a genuine thrill ride you need to try at least once. And then there's the Atrium, located on the side of the ship instead of the center, a placement that allows the space to have three-story sea views during the day and become a top-notch entertainment space at night. Rudi's Seagrill is another fleet-first dining venue (seafood restaurant by Rudi Sodamin / Holland America Line's Master Chef). Rudi's Seagrill is a specialty restaurant (at surcharge / reservation fee) located on Deck 8 (between Summer Landing and La Piazza) with indoor (80 seats) and outdoor seating (al fresco dining on The Lanai). The Seagrill offers appetizers, entrees and desserts, with all menu items presented as food faces.
The canceled in early-July "Caribbean 2020" program was planned to start after the Transatlantic repositioning from Europe. Follows the complete list of Carnival Mardi Gras lounges, clubs and other entertainment venues for kids, teens, and adults. Follows the complete list of Carnival Mardi Gras restaurants and food bars. The boat has 18 decks, of which 15 are passenger-accessible and 11 with cabins. On January 25, 2019, was announced that the new Carnival XL-class vessel will have 6 themed zones (neighborhoods) - Grand Central, French Quarter, Lido-Pool, La Piazza, Summer Landing, The Ultimate Playground.
Rudi’s Seagrill™ is the brainchild of cookbook author and master chef Rudi Sodamin. He has years of experience pleasing palates of vacationers… and this guy loves serving up a smile as much as Carnival does! But he’s serious about seafood, and an evening at Rudi’s proves it through the courses. Enjoy selections like seafood bisque and crab-stuffed lobster tail imperial — all served with an elegant flair that pays proper tribute to the beauty of the ocean from which so much fun, and flavor, arises. If you’ve strolled along New Orleans’ French Quarter in the evening, you’re not alone in feeling that mysteries and surprises lie around every corner. A French Quarter-styled zone on a new ship wouldn’t be complete without an unassuming little bar that feels like it’s always been there.
Balcony staterooms were designed for maximum sea breeze and the most stunning views, so look to a balcony if you’re looking to cruise aboard Mardi Gras. A Junior Balcony stateroom features the same size balcony as standard rooms, just with a little less interior space. Any time you’re in your room, you’re just steps away from your own personal outdoor oasis, featuring the sort of sea view you can also feel. Balcony staterooms were designed for maximum sea breeze and the most stunning views, so look to a balcony if you’re looking to cruise with a view aboard Mardi Gras. A Junior Balcony stateroom features the same size balcony as standard Balcony rooms, just with a little less interior space. To truly experience the cozy sanctuary that a harbor provides, check out a Family Harbor Interior stateroom.
The newcomers on this list, you may have noticed, include Rudi’s Seagrill, which is a chef-led restaurant that focuses on all things seafood. But, once the ship was constructed, it needed a home and this required additional construction. Carnival Mardi Gras cruise ship will be situated at Port Canaveral, in Florida, but in order to accommodate the ship, the port needed to build a new terminal. In 1995 was created Royal Olympic Cruise Lines as a merger of "Epirotiki Line" and "Sun Line".
